[The video starts rolling with Cassandra peering intently into the camera, knowing she'll have some sort of audience. She may not exude any sort of insecurity in the way she looks at the feed, but she does seem curious enough. She's been around, watching people be pirates ~~and being one herself~~. But now that that's all finished with, she can finally address the group at large.

The trouble is that Cass has never been much of a talker. She's not going to get any better in front of several strangers.

Instead of shying away from the prospect, however, she does her best. She lifts a hand in greeting.]

I'm Cassandra. I'm a new warden here.

[A warden without an inmate, since she doesn't add anyone onto her description just yet.]

I'm still...learning this place. [Seeing, knowing where to go.] I'll get it eventually.

[She found the gym, what more do you people want.]

But I'm here to help. And...I'll be around.

[ Steph is grinning like a bobcat. More than usual. ]

I swear one of these days I'm going to turn around and Damian is going to be right there.

Or in normal people talk, hey Cass.

[Hey Cass, have a familiar face! Who maybe looks a little younger than the guy running around back home right now ~~who the hell can tell with these comic book ages anyway right~~ but yes. It's Dick, hello, he's happy to see you. c:]

[If Damian shows up next, Tim is bailing overboard. THE END.] Cass?

[It's not an 'are you really you' question. It's more of a 'what kind of deal brought you here' question. But he's also trying to play it physically cool because this body reading thing she does is still both awesome and unsettling. :c]

[There's a moment of hesitation for her when she looks at Stephanie - Is she angry that I left? - but the moment subsides quickly enough. She's smiling, after all.

She returns the expression.]

I didn't think I'd see you here.

[But she's...glad (relieved?) that she has.]

Hi, Steph.

[He gets her attention almost immediately, and she starts to say something when she pauses. Why does he look so young?]

Dick?

[Questions linger in her gaze.]

You're here too.

[Safe. Happy to see her. Younger.]

[ She stopped being angry a long time ago. It wasn't doing her any good in any capacity. And unlike Tim, she's not worried about the deal. Just glad that her friend has the option of leaving if it turns out it isn't worth it. ]

There are a lot of us, from Gotham. From... a lot of time periods. [ Which is weird. But oh well. Everything here is. ]

I do offer tours, though.

[Oh, that's nice of you.]

Tim.

[She has just as many questions written on her face, though they're probably simpler than the questions he has. He looks wary and uncertain of her presence.

As some sort of ice-breaker (and a lame one at that), she tries to smile.]

Hi.

[Woah, wait, hold on.]

'Time periods.'

[She can handle the people from Gotham, especially if the three of them are with her. But this other thing sounds touchy. And yes, business first.]

What do you mean by that?

Like, from the past. When I first signed on, Tim and I were a few months apart, relatively speaking. [ It was awkward. ] Dick...

Well, he didn't realize I wasn't dead. If you know what I mean.

[He's starting to question the decision to make this a video, so all the things he's pondering - whether or not she's lying, when she's from, if she's still poisoned by Slade - he's pushing away and smiling back.]

Welcome aboard. Did you just get here? [Or did you get to see the glories of port already.]

[He's basically used to the whole "you're from the past and we're used to you being a literal dick" thing by now, so his expression changes to border on apologetic, or maybe just sheepish.]

Yep. I'm a little bit time displaced compared to most people from our world on board, but it's me. [And then swapping filters just in case.]

[Private]

What brings you here? [What horrible stuff is going on back home that means you decided to come here. :c]

[Cass doesn't even know what to do with that information. Dick's the oldest of them, the one who generally knows everything besides Barbara. And he doesn't know...

She frowns.]

Oh.

[That's a ways back, isn't it? But not too much, thankfully.]

How long have you been here? [All of you.]

[She slowly shakes her head.]

Yesterday. [There's a faint smile on her lips.] I saw pirates.

[And the ridiculousness that came from all of that.]

[ Steph knows the feeling, but also... is much closer to Dick now than she ever would have been back home. It almost makes her feel guilty. Almost. ]

Um, that depends what you're counting. I think it's something like a year and a half, but I might be missing some time in there.

[She looks him over with avid curiosity, mostly from her conversation with Stephanie. He doesn't seem particularly worried about her uncertainties.

After a moment, she relaxes and gives him a smile, albeit faint.]

Yeah, it's you. [Can't mistake that sheepish smile.]

I...came to help. To be a part of something. [To make her own path now that she's no longer 'Batgirl'.]

[She looks surprised.]

But... You were still in Gotham three days ago.

[Well, that's a relief, at least, that she's not here because someone was in danger or another city had been destroyed, and so Dick relaxes and smiles more honestly.] Glad to know I pass inspection.

And don't let Steph fool you, I've been brought up mostly to speed. [He thinks, for the most part, but who really knows considering Tim's level of Paranoid Freak.] At least with most of the big stuff.

That's another thing. Time passes differently here. Not to mention the other stuff. Like, three days ago barge time? I was a pirate. [ She was an awesome pirate. It was great. ]

Welcome to the barge: Where weird stuff happens on a regular basis.

[That gets him another smile, one more at ease this time.]

What was the last thing you remember from home?

[She manages a smile.]

I saw some of the pirates.

[But not of her batfamily, and this makes her pretty sad, okay. That would've made for some awesome memories.]

You did? [ She will happily pretend that Cass saw her being an awesome pirate wench. ]

You're lucky, that was one of the nicer breaches.

I was just getting back from the trip Bruce, Tim and I took after that whole fiasco with Alexander Luthor and Superboy Prime. I didn't really know what I was planning on doing with myself, so when the Admiral offered me a deal, I said sure and I've been here for a little over a year, now.

[She nods, her smile becoming more genuine.]

It was fun. [Sort of.] But there's...worse ones?

Yeah. They're not nearly as bad as some ports, but I don't think too many people died this time around. [ Implying, of course, that usually lots of people die in port ]

[Though the timeline discrepancies bother her, it's more that he, Steph, and Tim have been here for so long and she never noticed. How can they be switched out without anyone taking note, not even Bruce?]

That's a long time.

[So maybe it's time for another question.]
